What will happen if we don’t do something about climate change?

If we don’t ramp down our burning of fossil fuels rapidly and enact measures to limit the damage already done, our future on this planet will look grim. Increasingly extreme weather events, the disruption of food and water production and supply chains, and countless other realities are guaranteed in the absence of dramatic action. A well-known climate change saying, adapted from a Chinese proverb, goes like this: The best time to stop burning fossil fuels is twenty years ago. The second-best time is today.

The best thing about acting on climate is that the lifestyle changes we’re required to make will only result in a healthier, more stable planet. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain by acting now.
